Born in Cuba and classically trained, Nachito was recognized as a piano prodigy. At the age of 12, he performed Rachmaninoff, Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Havana Symphony. In the 1990s he travelled internationally as leader of the high-energy group, Cubanismo! In 2002 he emigrated to the United States and made Minnesota his home. Nacho (family and friends moniker) is one of the finest musicians I have ever met and, in spite of rave reviews and international accolades, he is one of the most humble people I have met.
